PSFCOM Home Game Trip: Brownies at Steelers, November 11, 2007

It all started Saturday night, 11/10/07.  Steeler Bear, his mommy, and 300-some other members of the PSFCOM ventured to Pittsburgh for the club's annual home game trip to see the Steelers pound the Puppies.  Steeler Bear, his mommy, Julie, Pat, and Jack were just four of the several members who regularly attend The Loft in Essex who went to the game.  The weekend began at the party in the hotel...

...where Steeler Bear got his Terrible (Towel) Cape autographed by 4-time Super Bowl winner J.T. Thomas...

...and 2-time Super Bowler Robin Cole!

Just two autographs wasn't enough, though.  Steeler Bear was hoping to win the raffle for the Steel Curtain autographed helmet!

Sadly, he didn't win it.  So, he consoled himself with a helping of Iron City beer from the Terrible Mini Bar!

The next day, Sunday, 11/11/07, the PSFCOM held their tailgate party.  Steeler Bear was literally just hanging around (his mommy had him around her neck all day by black & gold beads so she wouldn't accidentally lose her baby)!

Just before entering the stadium, Liz (that's Steeler Bear's mommy's name, by the way) met one of the nice people who directs people from wooden platforms outside the stadium.  She forgets his name, but he was really nice! When she asked if she could get a picture of him with Steeler Bear, he insisted that she be in the picture, too!  As soon as the picture was taken, he held out his headset microphone and instructed her to say something into it.  She yelled, "Go Steelers!!!" into the mic, and then he informed her that it was broadcast to the entire stadium.  GO STEELER BEAR'S MOMMY!!!  :-D

Once inside, Steeler Bear and his mommy checked out the Great Hall, and they decided it would be fun to lie on one of the letter "e"s in the Steelers' name on the floor.

...Daddy! Or, at least, that's what Steeler Bear wishes.

Steeler Bear wanted to PROVE that he was RIGHT THERE with the Steelers themselves!

Even the event staff wanted to meet Steeler Bear!

He was also popular with total strangers... what a shock!  ;)

"Why aren't Steeler Bear and his mommy looking at the camera?" you ask...

Well, it's simply because this wonderful man...

...PUT THEM ON THE JUMBOTRON!!!  Thank you, sweet Steelers camera man!

During halftime, two lovely people who were selling Steelers merchandise wanted their picture with Steeler Bear, as well.

Steeler Bear and his mommy had an AMAZING trip to Pittsburgh for their first NFL game ever, and they hope to do it again next year.  A special thanks to everybody who made the trip terrific, to those who helped by taking Steeler Bear's picture, and to the PSFCOM for organizing it all.  And of course, a HUGE thanks to the wonderful Pittsburgh Steelers for kicking the Brownies' asses and doing it in a way that only the best 75-year-old organization out there could.  Here's to 75 more!
